Dream Himalayan Travels and Tours invites you on a 14-day sacred pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar, beginning from Kathmandu. This spiritually enriching journey takes you through Nepal’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites before crossing into Tibet and exploring one of the most revered spiritual landscapes on Earth.
Mount Kailash, considered the divine abode of Lord Shiva, and Lake Mansarovar, symbolizing purity and enlightenment, hold deep significance for Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers. Along the way, pilgrims will experience ancient traditions, breathtaking Himalayan scenery, and the unique nomadic lifestyle of the Tibetan plateau.
The journey includes a three-day Kailash Parikrama (Kora), crossing the sacred Drolma La Pass (5,650 m), and visits to spiritually significant sites such as Rakshasa Taal, Yamadwar, Gauri Kund, and Milarepa Cave—making this pilgrimage a truly transformative experience.

Itinerary
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and assist with the transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, you may rest and recover from your journey.

Distance: Inside Kathmandu Valley
Today, we explore some of the most sacred and culturally significant sites of the Kathmandu Valley. Visits include Pashupatinath Temple, Guheshwari Shaktipeeth, and Jal Narayan (Budhanilkantha) Temple.
Later, you will have free time to purchase any required items for the Yatra.

Early in the morning, we begin our scenic drive towards Ghattekhola, located in the Langtang region of northern Nepal. The journey follows the Pasang Lhamu Highway, passing through beautiful hills and river valleys.
Arrival at Ghattekhola after approximately 7–8 hours.

After breakfast, we proceed towards the Rasuwagadhi–Kerung border (Friendship Bridge). After completing immigration and border formalities, we enter Tibet and drive to Kerung (Gyirong), the first Tibetan town.

Today’s drive takes us deeper into the Tibetan plateau, crossing high passes such as Thong La and La Lung. En route, enjoy stunning views of Lake Peiku Tso and observe traditional Tibetan yak and sheep grazing.
Arrival at Saga by late afternoon.

This day is dedicated to proper acclimatization at high altitude. You may take short walks around Saga County or rest at the hotel. This is an essential day to prepare your body for the upcoming journey.

After breakfast, we embark on a long but rewarding drive to the holy Lake Mansarovar, the highest freshwater lake in the world. Surrounded by Mount Kailash, Mount Gurula-Mandata, and Lake Rakshash Taal, the lake holds immense spiritual significance.

In the morning, we perform holy rituals and puja at the banks of Lake Mansarovar. Each yatri will receive a bucket of hot holy water for bathing.
After completing the Mansarovar Parikrama by jeep, we drive to Darchen, the base camp of Mount Kailash.

We begin the sacred Kailash Parikrama (Kora) today. After driving to Tarboche (Darboche), also known as the Valley of Gods, we pass through Yamadwar, the gateway of the God of Death.
A gradual walk brings us to Dirapuk, located directly beneath the North Face of Mount Kailash.

• Darchen to Tarboche: 7 km (30 minutes drive)
• Yamadwar to Dirapuk: 14 km | Approx. 8 hours trek
This is the most challenging day of the Kora. We hike towards Drolma La Pass (5,650 m), passing Shiva-Sthal, Lham-Chu Khir River, and the sacred Gauri Kund.
We descend towards Juthulpuk, famous for the Milarepa (Miracle) Cave and Buddha’s footprints.

Distance: 22 km | Approx. 10–12 hours trek
In the morning, visit Milarepa Cave and nearby temples. After breakfast, we complete the final stretch of the Kora and return to Darchen.
After lunch, we drive back to Saga.

Today we drive back on smooth Tibetan highways to Kerung. This is a relaxed day, allowing rest after the Kora.

After completing immigration formalities at the Nepal–Tibet border, we drive back to Kathmandu.
